Play Audition Instructions
To audition for the Middle School Play, A Wrinkle in Time, you will need to prepare one monologue.
Monologue
Select one monologue linked below. Memorization is not required, but you should be familiar enough with the piece to perform it confidently and clearly with the focus being on telling the story of the monologue and character. If you’d like to reference the text during your audition, you may do so using a printed copy or an electronic device that you provide—please note that no printed materials will be provided at the audition.Improv
In addition to your monologue, you may be asked to participate in a brief improv exercise or to perform a portion of the monologue again with a different direction. This is not a reflection on your initial performance—it’s simply an opportunity for us to see a different side of your interpretation and how you take direction.

Please note: callback materials are available in a separate section below. These are provided only for reference and preparation in case you are called back. They do not need to be prepared for your initial audition.
Callback materials are linked below for reference. If you are selected for a callback, you will receive an email with details about which of these materials to prepare. Callbacks will take place on Monday, September 5th from 3:30pm - 5:30pm, and your email will have details of when during this time you need to be there. Please note that not being called back does not mean you are not being considered for a role. Callback materials are provided to help you feel prepared, but should not be brought to your initial audition.
