Singin’ in the Rain Auditions
Audition Instructions
1. Individual Vocal Audition
Students will complete a five-minute individual vocal audition. Use the “Audition Time Sign Up” link below to select a time.
Vocal Audition Times are offered
• Wednesday 12/3: 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
• Thursday 12/4: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
At your audition, you will sing one of the provided song cuttings from the “Song Audition Material” section using one of the supplied backing tracks. You are welcome to reference sheet music on paper or on a device. Printed copies will not be provided.
If you cannot find a time that works, email Ms. T at annie.tillotson@providenceacademy.org. If an alternate format such as a recorded submission is necessary, all materials must be submitted by midnight on 12/4.
Preparation: Select one song option using the link below. Each option includes sheet music, a learning track with your part played or sung over accompaniment, and the accompaniment track used during auditions. Memorization is not required, but students should come prepared to sing confidently and clearly communicate the story of the song.
2. Group Dance Audition
All students must also attend a group dance audition. You are expected to attend the dance audition on the same day as your individual vocal audition. These dance auditions may end early, but plan to be there for the full hour and a half.
Dance Audition Times
• Wednesday 12/3: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
• Thursday 12/4: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
If the dance audition on your assigned day does not work but the other day does, contact the production team so we can move you to the appropriate list. If neither day works, please reach out and we will discuss alternate options. If an alternate format such as a recorded submission is necessary, all materials must be submitted by midnight on 12/4.
Preparation: A video of the dance combination and the music used in the audition are linked below. Students should learn the dance in advance. During the group audition, students will review the choreography, have an opportunity to ask questions, and perform the routine twice.

3. Callbacks
Following the Thursday auditions, a Callback List will be emailed to all auditioners. This list will include the students we would like to see read for specific characters. Callbacks will take place on Friday, December 5 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
Callback materials are available in the section below on this page. These materials are provided for reference only and do not need to be prepared for the initial audition.
Please note that not being called back does not mean you are not being considered for a role or that you will not be cast. A callback simply indicates that the production team would like to see additional material from certain students.
Callback materials are linked below for reference. If you are selected for a callback, you will receive an email with details about which of these materials to prepare. Callbacks will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd from 6pm - 8:30pm, and your email will have details of when during this time you need to be there. Please note that not being called back does not mean you are not being considered for a role. Callback materials are provided to help you feel prepared, but should not be brought to your initial audition.
